Florida Keys Marinas

Marinas are listed in north to south geographic order!

  Marinas online :

Rickenbacker Marina http://www.rickenbackermarina.com

Rickenbacker Marina- One of the several marinas owned and operated by the city of Miami. This facility is located on the easterly shores of Virginia Key, in a reasonably well sheltered cove. Unfortunately, the emphasis here is NO longer on transient dockage. Call ahead to see if any overnight slips are available!

Coral Reef Yacht Club http://www.coralreefyachtclub.org/home.htm

Coral Reef Yacht Club- Web site for one of the three yacht clubs located in the Coconut Grove Community. Coral Reef Yacht Club is the only one of the three which is a member of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs

Dinner Key Marina http://www.ci.miami.fl.us/PublicFacilities/Marinas/mar_home.html

Dinner Key Marina- A very minimal web site for the huge, city of Miami owned Dinner Key Marina in Coconut Grove (plus info on other Miami city marinas)

Crandon Park Marina http://www.metro-dade.com/parks/Parks/crandon_marina.asp

Crandon Park Marina- this marina is owned and managed by Dade County. It is located on the northerly tip of Key Biscayne, hard by ultra shallow Bear Inlet. Transient dockage is no longer a priority at this facility, as is true for all of the Dade County owned marinas.

Matheson Park Marina http://www.miamidade.gov/parks/Parks/matheson_marina.asp

Matheson Park Marina- another marina owned and managed by Dade County. It perches on the westerly shores of Biscayne Bay, a short hop south of Coconut Grove. There is NO transient dockage currently available here.

Black Point Marina http://www.metro-dade.com/parks/Parks/black_point_marina.asp

Black Point Marina- the southernmost of the Dade County owned marinas. Located on the westerly shores of Biscayne near (you guessed it) Black Point. It can be easily identified from the water by a huge landfill just west of its location. There are no transient slips currently available here either!

Gilberts Resort Marina http://www.gilbertsresort.com/

Gilberts Resort Marina- considered by many to the be the "first" marina in the Florida Keys. This friendly facility guards the western banks of Jewfish Creek, just south of the bascule bridge.

Upper Keys Sailing Club http://www.geocities.com/uksc_2000/

Upper Keys Sailing Club- web site for what may be the friendliest and most laid back yacht - sailing club in the Florida Keys. These are good people, and they are always happy to welcome visitors!

Mangrove Marina http://www.mangrovemarina.com/

Mangrove Marina- a steadily improving marina located off the ICW, on the shores of Community Harbor, northeast of Tavernier Creek. Check them out!

Marina Del Mar http://www.marinadelmarkeylargo.com/marina.htm

Marina Del Mar- One of several pleasure craft facilities which makes their home on Key Largo Canal, off the Hawk Channel. This marina is in close proximity to the popular restaurant known as Coconuts.

Pilot House Marina http://www.pilothousemarina.com/

Pilot House Marina- A first class marina, accessed off the Hawk Channel near Key Largo, and located on the shores of Lake Largo. Visiting cruisers can expect a warm welcome at this facility!

Blue Waters Marina http://www.bluewatersmarina.com/

Blue Waters Marina- a nice marina located off Hawks Channel, inshore of Tavernier Key. The entrance cut is complicated, so consult our Cruising the Florida Keys before attempting first-time entry - note that this web site also gives good entry directions!

Cobra Marine http://www.cobramarineinc.com/

Cobra Marine- A small, but friendly marina just off Snake Creek, not far from this stream's outlet into the briny blue. Some transient dockage is available, but call ahead to check on availability.

Smugglers Cove Marina http://www.florida-keys.fl.us/smugglerscove.htm

Smugglers Cove Marina- A nice marina with a good ship's store and fuel dock, also just off the Snake Creek's seaward passage. Unfortunately, no transient dockage is available. Watch for strong currents when approaching the marina fuel dock.

Holiday Isle Marina http://www.holidayisle.com/marina.html

Holiday Isle Marina- To our way of thinking, this is one of the least appealing marinas in the Florida Keys. The dockage basin is surrounded by a morass of noisy bars and tee shirt shops. Transients are accepted, however, and there are several restaurants on site. Access from the Hawk Channel side of Whale Harbor Channel

Lorelei Marina http://fishfloridakeys.com/lorelei/index.htm

Lorelei Marina- a scanty web site for one of the most popular live aboard marinas in Islamorada. This marina is found off the ICW - Florida passage, hard by the much used Islamorada anchorage. The web site has a decided flavor of back country fishing

World Wide Sportsman http://www.worldwidesportsman.com/

World Wide Sportsman- perhaps the greatest fishing oriented retail store in the world, with Bayside Marina out back on the shores of Little Basin. The marina receives virtually no mention in this web site, but it is managed by this writer's good friend, Captain Don Sorrenson. As long as Captain Don is here, you can expect a warm and knowledgeable welcome!

Papa Joe's Marina http://www.papajoesmarina.com/

Papa Joe's Marina- a small marina with a a good restaurant, located on the easternmost section of the complicated set of channels spanning the gap between Upper and Lower Matecumbe Keys. This facility can only be reached from the ICW side, except by very small craft, courtesy of a low level fixed bridge.

Bud n' Marys Marina http://www.budnmarys.com/

Bud n' Mary's Marina- a very slim web site for a nice marina. Bud n' Mary's Marina is accessed off the Hawk Channel, on the westernmost tip of Upper Matecumbe Key. Excellent transient dockage, and a good harbor!

Treasure Harbor Marina http://www.treasureharbor.com/

Treasure Harbor Marina Marina- a small mom and pop sort of marina, located on Plantation Key, off the Hawk Channel. The entrance channel is VERY complicated, but transients are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

Caloosa Cove Marina http://www.caloosacove.com/

Caloosa Cove Marina- A minimal web site for the excellent marina just off the Hawk Channel side of Channel Two, on the westerly tip of Lower Matecumbe Key

Fiesta Key Marina http://www.koa.com/where/fl/09250.htm

Fiesta Key/KOA Marina- The emphasis at this facility is on the adjacent campground, as indicated by the KOA association. The entrance channel can be tricky! It is located just west of Channel Five, off the ICW route.

Sea Bird Marina http://www.seabirdmarina.com/

Sea Bird Marina- A small, but friendly marina, found just off the ICW, west of Channel Five, and near the marina reviewed above. Pets are NOT allowed on any boat staying at this marina!

Hawks Cay Marina http://www.hawkscay.com/marina/

Hawks Cay Marina- One of the most sumptuous marinas in the Florida Keys. Located on Duck Key, amidst a huge resort development, cruisers can access this marina from the Hawk Channel, west of Channel Five. Don't be surprised if you see a celebrity or two while staying at Hawks Cay!

Blackfin Resort and Marina http://www.blackfinresort.com/

Blackfin Resort and Marina- A combination marina and hotel, located on the northern (ICW) shores of Marathon

Banana Bay Resort and Marina http://www.bananabay.com/

Banana Bay Resort and Marina- Yet another combination marina and hotel, also located on the northern (ICW) shores of Marathon, hard by the marina linked above.

Faro Blanco Bayside Marina http://spottswood.com/faroblanco.htm

Faro Blanco Bayside Marina- Extensive web site for one of the most recognized marinas in the Florida Keys. You can't miss Faro Blanco Bayside (not to be confused with the "Oceanside" version of this complex), courtesy of its distinctive lighthouse. Transients are welcome.

Marathon Boatyard http://www.marathonboatyard.com/

Marathon Boatyard- An absolutely first-rate repair facility that guards the northerly shores of Marathon's Boot Key Harbor, immediately east of the Boot Key Harbor bascule bridge. A West Marine store is located just behind this yard. A dinghy dock is provided in Marathon Boatyard for West Marine customers ONLY!

Sombrero Resort & Lighthouse Marina http://www.sombreroresort.com/

Sombrero Resort and Lighthouse Marina- a pretty thin web site for a first class resort and marina, guarding the easterly reaches of Marathon's Boot Key Harbor. Do NOT confuse this facility with Sombrero Marina, just a short hop to the west, also on Boot Key Harbor

Sunshine Key Resort & Marina http://www.rvonthego.com/database/park_details.html?ID=14

Sunshine Key Resort and Marina- another minimal web site, this time for the one marina which readily accepts transients, anywhere on the ICW ("Back Route") passage from Marathon to Key West

Bahia Honda State Park and Marina http://www.ona1a.com/Parks/State/TheKeys/bahia.html#We

Bahia Honda State Park and Marina- web site for Bahia Honda State Park and it's marina. Good pictures, but not much info about the marina facilities.

Dolphin Marina and Resort http://www.dolphinmarina.net

Dolphin Marina- A nice, little marina on the shores of beautiful Newfound Harbor, accessed off Hawk Channel, west of Marathon. Transients are accepted, and those who dock here may well spot one of the vintage, mahogany launches that leave and return the affluent from nearby Palm Island Resort

Cudjoe Gardens Marina http://www.cudjoegardensmarina.com/

Cudjoe Gardens Marina- A small marina featuring an ultra-sheltered dockage basin. This facility is found off the Bow Channel, which runs north from Hawk Channel

Oceanside Marina http://www.oceansidemarina.com/

Oceanside Marina- A top notch marina on Stock Island, entered by way of a well marked passage from Hawk Channel. Extensive transient dockage, full fuelling services and repairs as well. If you aren't yet ready to push on to Key West by way of Hawk Channel, this is the spot!

Hilton Key West Marina

Hilton Key West Marina- This marina is located directly on the Key West waterfront, hard by Mallory Pier. Unfortunately, there is barely a mention of the marina part of this Hilton Inn operation on the web site

A&B Marina

A&B Marina- Web site for one of the several excellent marinas which make their home in Key West Bight. This site is very short on photographs, but gives good info about the marina.

City Marina at Key West Bight

City Marina at Key West Bight- this is the place to learn more about the very popular Key West City Marina in Key West Bight. When we are in Key West, this is usually our first choice for overnight accommodations. This facility also features an extensive dinghy dock for those anchored off at nearby Wisteria Island (Christmas Tree Island) or Man of War Harbor.

Conch Harbor Marina http://www.conchharbormarina.com/

Conch Harbor Marina- are you tired of hearing about excellent marinas on the waters of Key West Bight. Well, hold onto your hats, because here is yet another one. Conch Harbor seems to be absolutely first rate in every respect, but we usually do spot power craft here as opposed to wind powered boats

http://www.marinalife.com/locator/index.cfm?action=locate&mar_id=1-1234&locaator_type=R

Key West City Marina on Garrison Bight- a minimal description of the Key West City Marina on Garrison Bight - no mention of the adjacent mooring field, managed through this facility. Also, nary a word about the WORST shower facilities in all of Florida

Sunset Marina http://www.sunsetmarina-keywest.com/

Sunset Marina- a well thought out web site for this facility, which is actually located on the northern shores of Stock Island. Access is by way of Man of War Harbor, and then through a strangely marked channel
