The Moorings of Carrabelle - The largest marina in
the Florida Panhandle east of Panama City. Full services, a
friendly attitude and well sheltered dockage combined with nearby
good dining and a charming community, make the Moorings a real
winner.
http://www.cquarters.com
C-Quarters Marina - Carrabelle's newest pleasure craft
oriented marina. This facility features 67 wet slips, but only
two to three are set aside for transients. There are also shoreside
showers, an on-site restaurant and a large ship's store. If
you can find space here, C-Quarters can most certainly be considered
as a realistic dockage alternative in Carrabelle.

Miller Marine of Apalachicola - A good fuelling stop
on the Northern Gulf ICW, located in the heart of the old cotton
port of Apalachicola. Minimum transient dockage is available,
but the facility next door, Apalachicola River Inn and Marina,
does offer space for visitors
http://www.apalachicolariverinn.com/
Apalachicola River Inn and Marina - Located on the
principal Apalachicola waterfront, directly adjacent to the
ICW passage.
http://www.deepwatermarina.com
Deep Water Marina - A somewhat small, but first class
marina within easy walking distance of downtown Apalachicola.
This facility is located along the westerly banks of Scipio
Creek, downstream of Scipio Creek Marina (see below).
http://www.scipiocreekmarina.com/
Scipio Creek Marina - A superior facility on the Apalachicola
waterfront. Scipio Creek features ultra sheltered, modern dockage,
a well supplied ship's and variety store, plus full repair services.
It's a walk of some five blocks into downtown Apalachicola from
the dockage basin.
http://www.brandymarine.com/
Port St. Joe Marina - A new facility located in the
heart of downtown Port St. Joe. This community lies between
Apalachicola and Panama City, in a region that offers virtually
nothing else in the way of pleasure craft facilities. The waters
of St. Joseph Bay, lying about Port St. Joe, are accessible
from the ICW via the deep Gulf County Canal. We have now visited
this facility and can attest to its first class management and
services. It will most definitely be making an appearance in
the next edition of our "Cruising Guide to the Northern
Gulf Coast."

Panama City Municipal Marina - It just doesn't seem
fair that Panama City should have so many top-notch marinas,
but this facility is quite simply one of the best city owned
marinas that we have ever reviewed anytime, anywhere. Dockmaster
Chris and her fine staff simply can't do enough for you. This
is a great spot to spend just a night, or a week resting from
you travels. Great dining within walking distance including
Bayou Joes and The Pasta Peddler!
http://www.baypointmarina.net/
Bay Point Marina - One of the best privately owned
marinas in the Panama City region. This extensive facility is
located on the northeastern shores of Grand Lagoon, accessed
from the Panama City Inlet channel. Trust us on this one, you
won't go wrong by coiling your lines at Bay Point!
http://www.interoz.com/treasureisland/
Treasure Island Marina - I know it's beginning to sound
like the Panama City Chamber of Commerce paid us off, but here
is the web site for another excellent, friendly marina in PC.
This one is located on the westerly end of Grand Lagoon. The
marina's fuel dock is open 24 hours a day. How's that for full
service!
http://www.sunharbor.com
Sun Harbor Marina - One of the recently improved marinas
in Panama City. Flanks the ICW's easterly shores immediately
south of the Hathaway bridge
http://www.harborwalk-destin.com/marina.htm
Harborwalk Marina - The only marina in Destin harbor
currently offering transient dockage. Nevertheless, both the
marina's and their web site's focus is on charter fishing
http://www.shalimaryachtbasin.com/
Shalimar Yacht Basin - One of the Fort Walton Beach
marinas offering transient dockage and repair services. SYB
is located on the shores of Garnier Bayou, on the Choctawhatchee
Bay side of the restrictive fixed bridge which crosses this
body of water.
http://www.fwyc.org/
Fort Walton Beach Yacht Club - One of the friendliest
of the many friendly yacht clubs flanking the shores of the
Florida Panhandle. This club's sheltered docks are located on
the western shores of Garnier Bayou, just off Choctawhatchee
Bay.

Pensacola Yacht Club - One of the most prestigious
yacht clubs in the Florida Panhandle - located near the mouth
of Bayou Chico
http://www.marinamgmt.com/bahia_mar.htm
Bahia Mar of Pensacola - Owned and managed by the same
good people who bring you Seville Harbour and Palafox Pier in
Pensacola (see below). Once upon a day, under different ownership,
we barely even mentioned Bahia Mar in our Cruising Guide
to the Northern Gulf Coast. Now, it is an excellent facility
offering transient dockage and full repairs. Conveniently located
near the mouth of Bayou Chico.
http://www.daybreakmarina.com/
Day Break Marina - a nice, high-dry oriented marina
on Bayou Chico. If you need dry storage in Pensacola, this is
one of the first places to look!
http://www.brownmarine.com/
Browns Marina and Repair Yard - Offers extensive repair
capabilities for both pleasure and commercial craft. Good transient
dockage is also available. Located on Pensacola's Bayou Chico
http://www.psmc.net/
Pensacola Shipyard - A good marina and full service
repair yard on the upstream reaches of Pensacola's Bayou Chico.
Unfortunately, this web site deals almost exclusively with the
firm's commercial (vessel) repair capabilities. Perhaps in the
future, more info will be made available here for pleasurecraft.
http://www.marinamgmt.com/p_pier.htm
Palafox Pier Yacht Harbor - the newest of the three
Pensacola pleasure craft facilities owned and ably run by Marina
Management, Inc. Featuring ultra-modern dockage and a well sheltered
harbor, Palafox Pier is located in the heart of the downtown
Pensacola historic district. When last we saw it, this facility
was still under construction, but it's now fully open for business.
Please let us know something about your experience after berthing
here!
http://www.marinamgmt.com/p_pier.htm
Seville Harbour - The oldest of three first-class pleasure
craft facilities under the Marina Management umbrella in the
Pensacola region. Formerly known as Harbour Village at Pitt
Slip, visitors will find plentiful dockage, two on-site restaurants
and easy access to the Pensacola historic district. There is
much to recommend this facility to visiting cruisers!
Perdido Pass Marina - A small marina located on the
western flank of tricky Perdido Pass Inlet. This facility has
a heavy emphasis on charter fishing craft.
http://www.sportsmanmarina.com/
Sportsman Marina - A good web site for a fine marina.
Sportsman Marina is located on Terry Cove, just inland from
Perdido Pass Inlet. This marina offers good dockage and full
repair services. Give them a try!
http://www.piratescoveriffraff.com/
Pirates Cove Marina - Click here to view the still-under-construction
web site for the funkiest marina on the Northern Gulf Coast.
Pirates Cove guards the ICW's northern flank, just west of the
Florida - Alabama state line. There is a backwater quality to
this marina and repair yard which is rarely seen in cruising
circles this day and time. The on-site restaurant looks as if
it has just stepped out of the 1950's, and they claim to serve
the best cheeseburgers in the world. We think that might be
stretching it a bit, but everyone should visit Pirate's Cove
at least once. You may decide to stop here time and time again,
or you may never again darken its doorway. This is the sort
of place you either love or hate!

Fairhope Yacht Club - An ultra-friendly yacht club
with reciprocity agreements in place for visitors belonging
to other accredited yacht clubs. Located on the southerly shores
of Fly Creek (eastern shore of Mobile Bay) near the village
of Fairhope

Turner Marine - The first facility you will encounter
on western Mobile Bay's facility rich Dog River. Turner features
plentiful dockage, full repairs and a marine store.
http://www.mobileyachtclub.org/
Mobile Yacht Club - Another of the Northern Gulf Coast's
many friendly yacht clubs - located on the shores of Dog River.
http://www.dogrivermarina.com/
Dog River Marina - "THE" marina for larger
power craft between Pensacola and New Orleans. This facility
was named "2000 Marina of the Year" by "Boat
Motor Dealers" magazine. The wet slips host any sort of
pleasure craft, and the warm and knowledgeable welcome is all
one could ask for. The on-site service facilities, including
the redoubtable Middleton Marine, are second to none. Many owners
of Hatteras Yachts make a special trip year after year, just
to have their craft serviced here. With good dining nearby,
there is no reason not to set your course to this absolutely
fabulous facility. By the by, are you beginning to get the idea
that we are impressed with Dog River Marina?

Biloxi Yacht Club - One of the oldest and most venerable
yacht clubs on the Gulf coast. This club and its dockage facility
are located in the heart of downtown Biloxi
http://www.gulfportyachtclub.org/
Gulfport Yacht Club - It has been my privilege on three
different occasions to make presentations to this marvellous
yacht club. Their clubhouse is excellent and their dockage complex
is well sheltered and inviting.
http://www.slidellmarine.com/
Slidell Marine - A small marina/repair yard located
well upstream on Bayou Bonfouca (off the north shores of Lake
Pontchartrain near the Interstate 10 bridge)
http://www.prietomarina.com/
Prieto Marina - Web site for the large marina which
manages a host of fine wet slips on the shores of Bayou Castine,
within a stone's throw of the north Pontchartrain community
of Mandeville. Dining and provisioning are nearby, and you won't
find a more sheltered harbor anywhere. Say hello to my good
friends at the Pontchartrain Yacht Club whose headquarters flanks
the entrance of Bayou Castine!
http://www.claitors.com/mdr/marina.htm
Marina Del Ray - An excellent pleasure craft facility
on the beautiful Tchefuncte River (off the northern shores of
Lake Pontchartrain), hard by the charming community of Madisonville.
Great dining is nearby, and the town waterfront plays host to
a popular wooden boat festival in September.
http://www.southernyachtclub.org/
Southern Yacht Club - Arguably the most prestigious
yacht club on the entire Northern Gulf Coast. The club's headquarters
is prominently located in New Orlean's West End harbor.
South Shore Harbor - The newest of the New Orleans
"Levee Board" municipal facilities for pleasure craft.
A huge gambling casino is located adjacent to the dockage complex
http://www.marinasinneworleans.com/

is located in well sheltered West End Harbor, and is very popular
with visiting cruisers
